TURKEY
Turkey, has a surface of 2400 kilometres in Europe and 756000 kilometres in Asia. Thracië (the European part) borders is separated to Greece and Bulgaria and of the Asian part (small Asia, Anatolia) by the bosphorus, the sea of Marmara and dardanellen, which forms together the connection between the black sea, the Aegean sea and the Mediterranean sea. The Asian part of Turkey (Anatolië-Anadolu) is limited in the north by the black sea and the former USSR, in the east iran, in the south Iraq, Syria and the middelandse sea and in wishing by Aegean sea. The largest city of the country and tevens the only large city in Thrachië is the contemporary Istanbul (the former Byzantium and afterwards Constatinopel) with 14,000,000 inhabitants. The large cities in Turkey are: the capital Ankara (with approx. 3.6 millions inhabitants), Bursa, Konya, 1, 2 millions the port city Izmir (than 3.1 millions inhabitants and the Southern havenstaden Antalya more, Mersin and Iskanderun (each with approx. 2,000,000 inhabitants). Between the coast areas and the inland country large differences in temperature and rain fall exist. The kustgebieen have much more rain fall and especially in the inland country are large observe temperature differences between day and night. * black sea coast: much rain and misses wind by the powerful north from the black sea. Precipitate falls during the whole year (it most in the winster). The summer is warm with a high humidity quality. * Thracië: the average summer temperature is 25 ºC (mild sea climate). Istanbul has a moderate climate. There is frequently bewolking, spring is gently and of short duration, the summer is warmly and sunny, the autumn has pleasant temperatures. * Aegean - and Mediterranean sea coast: these have a Mediterranean sea climate with a warm and wet summer and a mild winter. July/august is the warmest months, where the warmth is tempered by zeebries. Rain falls mainly in autumn and winter. * inland country of Anatolia: here a continental climate with temperature differences between day and night, large in the summer and winter, dominates. Little rain and low humidity in the north and south. The summer is sunny, dry and is called with little precipitate, at night large cooling.
